- Treatment of iron deficiency anemia:

- Adults: PO 100-200mg/day (2-4 ampoules per day)
- Infants >1 month: PO 5-10mg/kg/day

- Pregnant women: 50mg/day (1 ampoule) during the last 2 quarters of pregnancy (or from the 4th month)

- 5mg/1.33mg/0.7mg per mL
- The ampoule should be diluted in water that may or may not be sweetened or any other non-alcoholic drink (but not milk).
- Drinking large quantities of tea reduces iron absorption therefore not mixed with tea.
- Preferably taken before meals but can be adjusted according to digestive tolerance
Antianemic
- Black stool
- Gastric burns
- Nausea

- Anemia not related to iron deficiency
Wait 2 hours between this drug and:
- Tetracyclines
- Fluoroquinolones
- Diphosphonates
- Penicillamine
- Thyroxin drugs
- Antacids
