- Pancreatic insufficiency (pancreatin enzyme deficiency) due to cystic fibrosis, chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic surgery, gastrectomy, pancreatic cancer, gastrointestinal bypass surgery etc
- <1 year: 3,000 lipase units/120mL of formula/breast-feeding
- 1-4 years: 1,000-2,500 lipase units/kg/meal
- >4 years: 500-2,500 lipase units/kg/meal
1 minimicrosphere capsule 10,000 contains 150mg Pancreatin (pancreas powder) corresponding to:
- Amylase 8,000 units
- Lipase 10,000 units
- Protease 600 units
- Capsules may be carefully opened and the pellets added to acidic soft food e.g. apple, orange or pineapple juice
- No product should be retained in the mouth
- Use immediately upon mixing with food/drinks
- Take with a lot of water
- Do NOT mix with very hot food/liquids
