• Scabies:
    • Apply thin layer and massage on skin on entire body except face
    • Remove drug 8-12 hr after application
    • Not 1st-line agent
  • Head lice/ crab lice:
    • Apply 30-60mL (max 60mL) on dry hair
    • Leave on 4 min, lather, rinse, remove nits with fine comb
    • One time application usually sufficient

Lotion/shampoo: 1% w/w

  • After you wash your skin or hair, wait at least 1 hour before using this medication
  • Apply ONLY to dry skin or hair
  • Use only one application

Scabicidal agent

It is directly absorbed into parasites and ova, presumably stimulating their nervous system, resulting in seizures & death of parasite

  • Neurotoxicity, including seizures and death, has been reported with repeat or prolonged application and rarely with single application
