- Maintenance treatment of bronchospasm, including chronic bronchitis, COPD and emphysema:
- 5mg nebulized every 6-8 hours
- 5mg nebulized every 6-8 hours
- Acute asthma exacerbations (Off-label):
- Adults and > years:5mg nebulized every 20 min *3 doses then PRN
- <6 years: 25mg nebulized every 20 min *3 doses then PRN
- 6-12 years:25-0.5mg nebulized every 20 min *3 doses then PRN
Inhalation solution: 0.25mg/2mL
Avoid getting in eyes. Flush immediately with water if it gets in the eyes
Anticholinergic
It prevents increase in intracellular calcium concentration that is caused by interaction of acetylcholine with muscarinic receptors on bronchial smooth muscle
