- Prophylaxis of asthma:
- PO 80/4.5mcg BD initially
- May increase to 160/4.5mcg BD
- PO 80/4.5mcg BD initially
Inhalation:
- 80mcg/4.5mcg
- 160mcg/4.5mcg
- Actuate before use by pumping 2 puffs in the air before use.
- Shake for 5 seconds before each use.
- Prime inhaler again if not used for >7 days
- Rinse mouth with water after use.
Ciclesonide: Glucocorticoid prodrug, converted to active ingredient des-ciclesonide. It has immunosuppressive properties and anti-inflammatory activity.
Formoterol: Long-acting selective beta2-adrenergic agonist. It works by causing bronchodilation by relaxing the smooth muscles in the airways.
