• Elevated IOP in open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension:
    • 1 gtt in affected eye BD

Eye drops:

  • 0.2% w/v + 0.5% w/v
  • Remove contact lenses before applying the eye drops and wait until 10 min before inserting contact lenses.
  • Discard 4 weeks after opening bottle
  • Eye drops should be used before eye ointments
  • If using more than 1 eye drop, they should be administered at least 5 minutes apart

Brimonidine: Sulfonamide and carbonic anhydrase inhibitor. It reduces the secretion of hydrogen ions at renal tubule and increases excretion of bicarbonate, potassium, sodium and water, which in turn decreases aqueous humor secretion

Timolol: Nonselective beta-adrenergic receptor blocker; reduces IOP by reducing production of aqueous humor
