- Bacterial conjunctivitis, keratitis, keratocojuctivitis, corneal ulcers.
- Apply ½ inch ribbon every 3-4 hours
- Prevention of neonatal conjunctivitis:
- One single application immediately after birth
Ointment: 1% w/w
- To be applied on the inner side of the lower eyelid.
- When tube is opened for the first time, the first ¼ inch of ointment should be discarded.
- Remove contact lenses before using.
- May cause temporary blurring
Tetracycline.
It inhibits the protein synthesis of susceptible bacteria thereby inhibiting cell replication.
