• Bacterial conjunctivitis, keratitis, keratocojuctivitis, corneal ulcers.
    • Apply ½ inch ribbon every 3-4 hours 
  • Prevention of neonatal conjunctivitis:
    • One single application immediately after birth

Ointment: 1% w/w

  • To be applied on the inner side of the lower eyelid.
  • When tube is opened for the first time, the first ¼ inch of ointment should be discarded.
  • Remove contact lenses before using.
  • May cause temporary blurring

Tetracycline.

It inhibits the protein synthesis of susceptible bacteria thereby inhibiting cell replication.
