• Induction of mydriasis
  • Cycloplegic refraction:
    • Dose: 1-2 gtt *1 40-50 min before procedure
    • May repeat in 5 min PRN
    • DOA: 24 hours

Eye drops: 10mg/mL

  • Remove contact lenses before applying the eye drops and wait until 10 min before inserting contact lenses.
  • Discard 4 weeks after opening bottle
  • Eye drops should be used before eye ointments
  • If using more than 1 eye drop, they should be administered at least 5 minutes apart

Anticholinergic mydriatic

It antagonizes acetylcholine receptors, inhibiting response of iris sphincter and ciliary body muscles producing dilation of the pupil and paralysis of accommodation

  • Behavioral disturbance
