Dose:
- Adults & children >12 years: PO 10-20mL up to 4x a day
- Children 6-11 years old: PO 5-10 mL after meals and before bedtime
- Suspension:
- 500mg/267mg per 10mL

Sodium alginate forms a viscous gel by reacting with stomach acid. This gel floats on the surface of stomach contents and acts as a blockade to reduce reflux.
Sodium bicarbonate: It increases serum bicarbonate, raising pH and neutralizes gastric acidity
