  • Paracetamol (acetaminophen): 500 mg
  • Chlorpheniramine maleate: 2 mg
  • Dextromethorphan HBr: 10–15 mg
  • Phenylephrine HCl: 5–10 mg
  • Take with or without food
  • Do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours
  • Use a proper measuring cup for syrup
  • Avoid alcohol and other sedatives
  • Stay hydrated to relieve mucus buildup
  • Paracetamol: Analgesic and antipyretic; inhibits prostaglandin synthesis in CNS
  • Chlorpheniramine: First-generation antihistamine; relieves sneezing, runny nose, and itching
  • Dextromethorphan: Centrally acting non-opioid antitussive; suppresses cough reflex in the medulla
  • Phenylephrine: Alpha-1 adrenergic agonist; vasoconstricts nasal blood vessels → relieves congestion
  • Paracetamol: Rarely hepatotoxic in normal doses; risk of liver damage in overdose
  • Chlorpheniramine: Drowsiness, dry mouth, dizziness, blurred vision
  • Dextromethorphan: Dizziness, nausea, drowsiness; high doses can cause dissociation or hallucinations
  • Phenylephrine: Insomnia, anxiety, increased blood pressure, palpitations
  • Hypersensitivity to any component
  • Severe liver disease (due to paracetamol)
  • Narrow-angle glaucoma, urinary retention (anticholinergic effect from chlorpheniramine)
  • MAOI use within 14 days (due to dextromethorphan and phenylephrine interactions)
  • Children under 6 (unless supervised by a healthcare provider)
  • MAO inhibitors: May cause hypertensive crisis or serotonin syndrome
  • Other CNS depressants (alcohol, sedatives): Additive sedation with chlorpheniramine or dextromethorphan
  • Hepatotoxic drugs or alcohol: Increased risk of liver injury with paracetamol
  • SSRIs: Risk of serotonin syndrome with dextromethorphan
