- Major depressive disorder:
- PO 10mg OD
- Dose should then be increased to 20mg/day, as tolerated
- Consider decreasing dose to 5mg/day if higher doses are not tolerated
- Tablet:
- 5mg
- 10mg
- 20mg
To be taken without regards to meals

The exact mechanism of action is unknown but it is thought to selectively inhibit serotonin reuptake, antagonize serotonin 5-HT3 receptors and agonize serotonin 5-HT1A receptors thereby increasing serotonergic activity in the CNS

- MAO inhibitor use within 14 days
