- Subarachnoid hemorrhage:
- PO/NG 60mg every 4 hours *21/7
- Initiated within 96 hours of subarachnoid hemorrhage
Tablet: 30mg
Injection: 10mg/50mL
- Taken on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal
Calcium channel blocker
It inhibits calcium ion influx in vascular smooth muscle and neurons, resulting in increased collateral circulation and prevention of neuronal calcium overload. Highly lipophilic hence crosses the blood-brain barrier
