• Dementia in Alzheimer’s disease:
    • Mild to moderate:
      • PO 5mg every night at bedtime initially
      • May increase to 10mg/day after 4-6 weeks if warranted
      • Max 10mg/day
    • Moderate to severe:
      • 5mg every night at bedtime *4-6 weeks
      • May increase to 10mg every night at bedtime *3 months, then may increase to 23mg every night at bedtime
      • Max 23mg/day

Tablet: 5mg; 10mg

Taken without regards to meals

It reversibly binds to and inactivates acetylcholinesterase (cholinesterase inhibitor) which increases acetylcholine concentrations, thereby enhancing cholinergic neurotransmission
