- Adjunctive treatment of epilepsy:
- Child 6-17 years: Initially 5mg daily
- Increased at 5-day intervals
- Maintenance 0.3-1mg/kg daily
- Daily doses of up to 30mg may be given as a single dose at bedtime
- Higher doses should be divided
- Max 40mg per day
- Child 6-17 years: Initially 5mg daily

- Adult: 20-30mg daily divided BD, then increased if necessary up to 60 mg daily
Tablet: 10mg
- Doses above 5mg/day should be administered in divided doses BD
- Taper by 5-10mg weekly to discontinue
- Taken without regard to food

- Risk of addiction, abuse or misuse
- Concomitant benzodiazepine use with opioids may result in profound sedation, respiratory depression, coma and death
