• Hypertension:
    • PO 12.5 -50mg daily alone or in combination with other antihypertensives.
  • Edema:
    • PO 25-100 mg OD/BD. Not to exceed 200 mg/day.
  • Diabetes insipidus:
    • PO 100mg daily

Tablet:

  • 25mg
  • 50mg

Best taken in the morning due to its diuresis effect (peaks in 4 hours).

Thiazide diuretic.

It inhibits resorption of sodium and chloride at the distal convoluted tubule. Also enhance effects of other antihypertensives.
