• Hypertension:
    • 5-50mg BD/TDS. Increase dose by 12.5-25mg every 1-2 weeks. Max 200mg/day
    • Decreased efficacy as a monotherapy in Blacks
    • If on diuretics, use lower initial dose
  • Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction:
    • 25-12mg TDS; initially under medical supervision. Maintenance 25mg BD/TDS
  • Acute MI:
    • Initially 6.25 mg x1 on day 3 post-MI
    • Titrate up as tolerated every 3-7 days
  • Diabetic nephropathy:
    • 25mg TDS

Tablet:

  • 25mg

To be taken 1 hour before meals

ACE inhibitor

It interferes with the angiotensin converting enzyme thereby inhibiting conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II which is a potent vasoconstrictor, therefore dilates arteries and veins
