- Hypertension:
- Initially 2.5mg/6.25mg OD
- Max: 10mg/6.25mg/day
- Taper dose over 1 week to discontinue
Tablet:
- 2.5mg/6.25mg
- 5mg/6.25mg
- 10mg/6.25mg
- Taken in the morning before breakfast
- If withdrawn prior to surgery, at least 48 hours should be allowed between last dose and anesthesia.
- Therapy discontinuation should be gradual and patients advised to limit their physical activity during this period.
- Discontinue immediately in patients with ischemic heart disease.
- Do not administer calcium channel blockers and anti-arrhythmic agents IV during bisoprolol therapy.
Bisoprolol: Beta 1 selective beta-adrenoceptor antagonist
