• Edema:
    • Initially PO 5-10mg OD or on alternate days.
    • Maintenance dose: PO 2.5-10mg 1-3 times weekly
    • Max: 20 mg daily
  • Hypertension:
    • PO 2.5mg OD
  • Suppression of lactation:
    • PO 5mg AM then 5mg at midday *5/7
  • Premenstrual edema:
    • PO 2.5mg OD *1/52
    • Taken before period is due
  • Idiopathic hypercalciuria:
    • PO 2.5mg daily with increased fluid intake.

Tablet:

  • 2.5mg

  • Best taken in the morning
  • May be taken with or without food
  • May be taken with food or milk

Thiazide diuretic
