Atorvastatin: Statin. It works primarily via inhibition of HMG-CoA (hydroxymethylglutaryl-coenzyme A) reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme in the cholesterol biosynthesis pathway thereby slowing the production of cholesterol in the body to decrease the amount of cholesterol that may build up on the walls of the arteries and block blood flow to the heart, brain and other parts of the body.
Ezetimibe: Selective cholesterol-absorption inhibitors. It localizes at the brush border of the small intestine and inhibits the absorption of cholesterol, leading to a decrease in the delivery of intestinal cholesterol to the liver.
