- Hypertension:
- Initially PO 1mg OD then may double dose every 1-2 weeks

- Benign prostrate hyperplasia:
- Initially PO 1mg OD then may double dose every 1-2 weeks

First dose taken at bedtime due to dizziness
Alpha blockers
It antagonizes peripheral alpha-1 adrenergic receptors causing arterial, arteriolar and venous dilation. It causes a decrease in total peripheral resistance and blood pressure. It also reduces sympathetic tone-induced urethral stricture responsible for BPH symptoms
