• Topical antiseptic and disinfectant used for:
    • Minor cuts, wounds, abrasions, and burns
    • Pre-surgical skin disinfection
    • Hand hygiene products, soaps, antiseptic solutions
  • Used undiluted or diluted depending on the formulation
  • Apply 1–3 times daily to affected area (topical use only)
  • typically available as:
    • 0.5%–5% in antiseptic creams, solutions, and surgical scrubs
    • Common formulations: Dettol (contains 4.8% chloroxylenol)
  • Clean the wound/skin before application
