- HIV 1 infection in pregnant and treatment-naïve patients:
- Adults: PO 25mg OD
- 12-17 years (weight ≥35 kg): PO 25mg OD
Tablet: 25mg
- To be taken after meals
- If coadministered with antacids should only be administered either at least 2 hours before or at least 4 hours after rilpivirine

It inhibits reverse transcriptase and incorporates into viral DNA resulting in DNA chain termination
