• HIV infection in combination with other anti-retroviral drugs:
    • Adults and children >25kg: 1 tab OD

Tablet: 600mg/300mg

  • Taken without regards to meals

Abacavir: NRTI (guanosine analog). It inhibits HIV reverse transcriptase by inhibiting viral replication

Lamivudine: NRTI (cytosine analog). It inhibits HIV reverse transcriptase by viral DNA chain termination.

WARNING

  • Severe and sometimes fatal hypersensitivity reaction, with multiple organ involvement, has been observed
  • Severe acute HBV exacerbations in HBV/HIV co-infected patients upon lamivudine discontinuation
  • Elvitegravir/cobicistat/emtricitabine/tenofovir DF
