- Type I DM:
- Usual daily maintenance range is 0.5-1 unit/kg/day in divided doses

- Type II DM:
- Dose is individualized
Injection/pre-filled syringe: 100 IU/mL
- Administer dose within 15 minutes before a meal or immediately after a meal.
- Administer by SC injection in the abdominal wall, thigh, upper arm or buttocks
- Rotate injection sites within the same region from 1 injection to the next to reduce the risk of lipodystrophy
