- Type I and II DM:
- Usual total daily insulin requirement 0.5-1 units/kg/day
- Give <15min before or <20min after meals
Pre-filled syringe: 100 IU/ml
- Administered by SC injection in the abdominal wall, thigh or upper arm
- Rotate injection sites within the same region from 1 injection to the next to reduce the risk of lipodystrophy
