- Take orally twice daily with meals to minimize gastrointestinal side effects from metformin.
- Ensure adequate hydration to prevent dehydration due to the diuretic effect of canagliflozin.
- Canagliflozin (SGLT2 Inhibitor): It reduces glucose reabsorption in the kidneys, leading to increased glucose excretion in urine and lowering blood glucose levels.
- Metformin (Biguanide): It reduces hepatic glucose production, decreases intestinal glucose absorption, and improves insulin sensitivity.
