- Gonococcal urethritis/cervicitis:
- IM 0.5g *1

- Rectal gonorrhea:
- Men: IM 1g *1
- Women: IM 0.5g *1
- Infections of susceptible organisms:
- Uncomplicated: IV/IM 1g BD
- Moderate to severe: IV/IM 1-2 g TDS
- Septicemia: IV 2g TDS/QID
- Life-threatening: IV 2g every 4 hours; Max 12 g/day
- <12 years (<50kg): IV/IM 50-200mg/kg/day divided every 6-8hours
- 0-7 days old neonates: IM/IV 100-150mg/kg/day divided BD
- Prophylaxis of surgical infection:
- IM/IV 1g *1 30-90 minutes before start of procedure
- IM/IV 1g *1 30-90 minutes before start of procedure
- Community-acquired pneumonia:
- >3 months: IV 150mg/kg/day divided TDS *10/7
