• Moderate to severe infections:
    • IM/IV 2g TDS. Max 12g/day
  • Surgical infection prophylaxis:
    • Pre-operatively: IV/IM 1-2 g ≤1 hour before procedure (may be repeated in 2-5 hours intraoperatively)
    • Post-operatively: IV 0.5-1g every 6-8hr for 24 hours
  • Prophylaxis in endocarditis surgery only in high-risk patients:
    • IV/IM 1g 30-60 minutes before procedure 
  • Uncomplicated UTI:
    • IV 1g BD 
  • Mild to moderate cholecystitis:
    • IV 1-2g TDS *4-7 days

Injection: 1g

For IV, infuse over 3-5 minutes
