- Moderate to severe acute pain in adults.
- Management of chronic pain that requires around-the-clock treatment and when other pain medications are inadequate.
- Neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy in adults.
Dose:
- Acute pain:
- Initial dose: PO 50-100 mg every 4-6 hours as needed.
- Max daily dose: 600mg
- Chronic Pain/Neuropathic pain:
- Initial dose: PO 50mg BD titrating based on patient response.
- Max daily dose: 500mg.
Tablet:
- 100mg
- 200mg
- Can be taken with or without food
Centrally acting analgesic with two mechanisms of action: mu-opioid receptor agonism and norepinephrine reuptake inhibition. This dual mechanism helps relieve moderate to severe pain by both opioid and non-opioid pathways.
