• Abdominal cramps
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
  • Menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea)
  • Colicky pain (renal, biliary, intestinal)

Typical Adult Dosage:

  • 1 tablet 2–3 times daily
  • Do not exceed 4 g of paracetamol/day
  • Dicyclomine hydrochloride: 10–20 mg
  • Paracetamol (acetaminophen): 325–500 mg
  • Take after meals
  • Swallow whole, do not crush
  • Stay hydrated; avoid alcohol (due to paracetamol)
  • Dicyclomine: Antispasmodic, anticholinergic
    • Blocks muscarinic receptors → relaxes smooth muscle of GI tract
  • Paracetamol: Analgesic and antipyretic
    • Inhibits prostaglandin synthesis in the CNS
  • Dry mouth, drowsiness, dizziness
  • Constipation, blurred vision, nausea
  • Rare: Liver toxicity (with high paracetamol doses)
  • Glaucoma, urinary retention, GI obstruction
  • Severe liver disease
  • Allergy to either component
  • Other CNS depressants: may enhance sedation
  • Enzyme inducers (e.g., rifampin): reduce paracetamol efficacy
  • Other anticholinergics: additive side effects
