• Uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections:
    • Adults: PO 1g QID *1-2 weeks
    • Children ≥3 months: PO 50mg/kg daily divided QID
  • Shigellosis:
    • Adult: PO 1g QID *5/7
    • Child ≥3 months: PO 15mg/kg QID *5/7
  • Tablet:
    • 500mg
  • To be taken with food or immediately after food

Quinolone antibiotic

It inhibits DNA gyrase activity and induce formation of a relaxation complex analogue thereby inhibiting DNA replication.
