- HIV infection:
- PO 1 tab OD *14/7 with 1 tab OD lamivudine/zidovudine after 12 hours, then 1 tab BD
- Tablet:
- 150mg/200mg/300mg
- Taken on an empty stomach, preferably at bedtime, to reduce side effects
Lamivudine: NRTI (cytosine analog). It inhibits HIV reverse transcriptase by viral DNA chain termination.
Nevirapine: NNRTI. It inhibits reverse transcriptase and incorporates into viral DNA resulting in DNA chain termination
Zidovudine: NRTI. It inhibits reverse transcriptase and incorporates into viral DNA, resulting in DNA chain termination
