Tablet:

  • 2mg/ 500mg/ 15mg
  • 4mg/ 500mg/ 15mg
  • Take with meals to minimise GI side effects from metformin and reduce the risk of hypoglycemia.
  • Avoid excessive alcohol consumption, as it can increase the risk of lactic acidosis (from metformin).
  • Glimepiride (Sulfonylurea): It stimulates pancreatic beta cells to release insulin, lowering blood glucose levels.
  • Metformin (Biguanide): It decreases hepatic glucose production, reduces intestinal glucose absorption, and improves insulin sensitivity.
  • Pioglitazone (Thiazolidinedione): It enhances insulin sensitivity by activating PPARγ receptors in fat and muscle tissue, increasing glucose uptake.
