- Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
- Functional bowel disorders

- Abdominal cramps, bloating, colicky pain
Typical Adult Dosage:
- 10–20 mg orally, 3–4 times/day
- In some cases, 20 mg up to 4 times/day may be used
- IM: 10–20 mg IM, up to 4 times/day for short-term use (no IV use recommended)
- Tablets/capsules: 10 mg, 20 mg
- Oral solution: 10 mg/5 mL
- Ampoules: 10 mg/mL (IM use)
- Take 20–30 minutes before meals for best effect
- Do not exceed recommended dose
- Swallow tablets with water; do not crush
- Class: Anticholinergic/antispasmodic
- Mechanism:
- Blocks muscarinic receptors in smooth muscle
- Reduces involuntary contractions in the GI tract
Provides relief from intestinal cramps, spasms, and motility disorders
- Dry mouth, dizziness, blurred vision
- Drowsiness, nausea, constipation
- Glaucoma
- Myasthenia gravis
- Urinary or intestinal obstruction
- Severe ulcerative colitis or reflux esophagitis
- Known allergy to dicycloverine
- Additive effect with other anticholinergics
- May reduce absorption of some drugs (e.g., digoxin, ketoconazole)
- CNS depressants (alcohol, sedatives): additive sedation
