Dosage:

  • Chronic conditions:
    • PO 500–1000 mg/day of calcium dobesilate component.
  • Constipation:
    • PO 50–200 mg/day of docusate sodium component, in divided doses.

  • Take with food to minimize GI discomfort.
  • Maintain adequate hydration to enhance the stool-softening effect.

  • Docusate Sodium: Acts as a stool softener by reducing surface tension, allowing water and fats to mix with stool.
