- For the control of serum phosphorus in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) who are on dialysis:
- PO 800mg TDS if PO4 5.6-7.4mg/dL
- PO 1200-1600mg TDS if PO4 7.5-8.9mg/dL
- PO 1600mg TDS if PO4 >9mg/dL
- Max: 13g/day
- May titrate by 400-800mg/dose every 2 weeks to maintain PO4 3.5-5.5mg/dL

- To be taken with meals

It decreases serum phosphate concentrations without changing calcium, aluminum or bicarbonate concentrations
