• Adjunctive treatment of epilepsy:
    • Child 6-17 years: Initially 5mg daily
      • Increased at 5-day intervals
      • Maintenance 0.3-1mg/kg daily
      • Daily doses of up to 30mg may be given as a single dose at bedtime
      • Higher doses should be divided
      • Max 40mg per day
    • Adult: 20-30mg daily divided BD, then increased if necessary up to 60 mg daily

Tablet: 10mg

  • Doses above 5mg/day should be administered in divided doses BD
  • Taper by 5-10mg weekly to discontinue
  • Taken without regard to food

  • Risk of addiction, abuse or misuse
  • Concomitant benzodiazepine use with opioids may result in profound sedation, respiratory depression, coma and death
