- Type II DM:
- Middle-aged stable patient: PO 250mg OD
- Older patients: PO 100-125mg OD
- May increase/decrease PRN by 50-125 mg/day at 3-5 day intervals
- Max 750mg/day
Tablet: 250mg
Taken 30 min before meals
Sulfonylurea
It increases beta-cell insulin secretion. It may also decrease rate of hepatic glucose production, increase insulin receptor sensitivity and increases number of insulin receptors.

- Hypersensitivity to sulphur
- Insulin-dependent diabetes

- Severe renal or hepatic dysfunction
- Dronabiol
- Thiazides decrease effect
