- Prevention of thrombotic event:
- 75mg OD
- Acute coronary syndrome:
- <75 years: Loading dose of 300mg x 1, then 75mg OD *12 months (if no bleeding)
- >75 years: No LD. 75mg OD *12 months (if no bleeding)
- Give with aspirin 75-325mg per day
- Recent MI, stroke or established peripheral arterial disease:
- 75mg OD
- Given as alternative to aspirin or concomitantly with aspirin if patient not at increased risk for bleeding but at high risk for CV disease
- Coronary Artery Disease (CAD):
- 75mg OD

Platelet aggregation inhibitor
It reversibly binds to P2Y12 adenosine diphosphate receptors, reducing platelet activation and aggregation.
