• Oropharyngeal candidiasis:
    • Adults and children: 4-6ml QID * 7-14 days
    • Infants: 2ml QID (1ml in each side of the mouth)
    • Premature and low birth weight infants: 1ml QID (0.5ml in each side of the mouth)
  • Intestinal candidiasis:
    • Adults: 1-2 tabs TDS OR 5-10ml TDS

Suspension: each ml contains 100,000 i.u.

Tablet: 500,000 i.u.

  • For the suspension, it should be retained in the mouth as long as possible.
  • Continue treatment for 2 days after the symptoms resolve.

Polyene antifungal.

Fungistatic and fungicidal. It binds to sterols in the cell membrane of the fungus casing change in the permeability of the membrane allowing leakage of intracellular components.
