- Allergic and inflammatory conditions:
- Adults:
- PO 1-2 tabs QID (not to exceed 8 tablets a day)
- 6-12 years:
- PO half a tablet TDS (not to exceed 4 tablets a day)
- PO 2.5mL TDS (max 10mL per day)
- 2-6 years:
- PO 1-2.5mL TDS (max 10mL per day)
- Adults:
Betamethasone 0.25mg
Dexchlorpheniramine maleate 2mg
To be taken at meals and at bedtime.
Betamethasone: glucocorticoid receptor agonist. It controls the biosynthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes thereby controlling inflammation.
Dexchlorpheniramine: H1 receptor antagonist. It competes for H1 receptors in blood vessels, respiratory tract and GI tract. It is twice as effective as chlorpheniramine.
