- Benign duodenal ulcers:
- 800mg nocte * 4/12
- Benign gastric ulcers:
- 800mg nocte *6/12
- GERD:
- 800mg BD OR 400mg QID *4-12 weeks
- Zollinger-Ellison syndrome:
- 400mg QID or more
- Stress ulceration:
- 200mg-400mg every 4-6 hours
- Gastric acid reduction in obstetrics and in surgical procedures:
- Initially 400 mg, to be administered at start of labour or 90-120 minutes before anesthesia, then increased if necessary up to 400 mg every 4 hours
- Reduce degradation of pancreatic enzyme supplements:
- 8–1.6 g daily in 4 divided doses 1-2 hours before meals
- Dyspepsia, hyperacidity or heartburn:
- 200mg STAT BD 30 minutes before meals

- Best taken before meals.
