- Bowel cleansing prior to a colonoscopy, colorectal surgery or radiological exam to ensure clear visualization of the colon lining:
- Dose 1: Administered in the evening before the procedure, approx 10 – 12 hours before the second dose.
- Dose 2: Taken on the morning of the procedure, at least 3.5 hours before the procedure.

- Dose 1: Administered on the morning of the procedure, 6 hours prior to colonoscopy
- Dose 2: Administered 1 hr after 1st bottle
NB: Bowel movement to begin ½ to 1 hr from the intake of 1st bottle
- Sodium sulfate -17.5g
- Potassium sulfate – 3.13g
- Magnesium sulfate – 1.6g
- Fill the bottle with water up to the indicated line or bottle neck and shake well to mix thoroughly
- Drink the entire solution over 10 minutes
- Drink additional water after the 2nd bottle
- Do not drink any liquid 1hr before your procedure
Class: Osmotic laxative.
Mechanism of Action: The combination of sulfates works by drawing water into the colon, which induces diarrhea and effectively cleanses the bowel.
